If we scan the current horizon of the inner-cities for leaders in the field of education, we will find such notable names as Geoffrey Canada, Tim King, Dr. Steve Perry, Melissa Harris-Perry and a few others. There are also many individuals unknown who are making great advancements in changing the lives of students from adverse environments.
While we acknowledge the work of individuals, the question is how do we motivate the masses of the population to make education and the success of each child the top priority? Collectively, as educators, parents, community leaders and concerned citizens we must pool our knowledge and resources to find viable answers soon, as success depends upon today's action.
